Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026
1. Who we are
The Black Book ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at clearanceblackbook.com and provides a digital directory of UK clearance and liquidation wholesalers. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at privacy@clearanceblackbook.com.
2. What data we collect
- Account & contact details — your email address when you sign up, create an account or request a free sample.
- Purchase records — the products you buy, amount paid, currency and date. We do not store your card details.
- Technical data — basic information such as device and browser type needed to operate the site securely.
3. How we use your data
- To provide access to the directory and your account.
- To process payments and deliver your purchase.
- To send you the free supplier sample you requested and occasional updates when we add new wholesalers (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are contract (to provide the service you paid for), consent (for marketing emails) and legitimate interests (to keep the site secure and improve our service).
4. Payments
Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — these are handled directly by Stripe under their PCI-compliant systems. Stripe also handles receipts, refunds and disputes on our behalf.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run the business — such as our hosting and backend platform, and our payment provider — and only as far as needed to deliver the service. These providers are bound by data-protection obligations.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet our legal obligations (such as tax records). You can ask us to delete your data at any time, subject to those obligations.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@clearanceblackbook.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
